Qianhui Xu(She/Her/Hers), is currently a director and cinematographer specializing in political, cultural & social impact media art creation. She has 6 years of experience in international and multicultural film & TV production. The interview pieces of the documentary series about World War II, Vietnam war, Korea war, and Gulf War veterans, which she shot as a camera operator, has been and continues to be posted on the American Veterans Center's YouTube channel, with some videos reaching 550,000 views, and the whole work will also be available on Netflix as a web documentary. The human interest documentaries and commercials shot by her can also be accessed on the official websites and YouTube channels of local companies and organizations such as Earnest Medicine and Glenwood Pool LLC in DMV area. The music video “MasVusi” re-filmmed by Qianhui and her friend has been selected for the “Existence as Protest” Rhizome Exhibition, whose aim is to showcase the diverse perspectives of DC local trans, queer, and gender expansive artists. Since the end of last year, Qianhui has been devoting herself to Asian Queer filmmaking, and is planning to shoot drag queens and the underground ball room located in Wuhan, China, as well as the life story of a transgendered male nurse living in Minneapolis.
