Sander Kok (22) is a recent graduate filmmaker from the St. Joost Academy in Breda, who tells grounded, realistic stories in a nuanced way through Film. Since the age of eight, Sander has been writing scripts, pursuing his dream of becoming a fiction filmmaker, which has culminated in his debut film ‘Now I See You’ in 2023. Drawing from personal experiences, thoughts, and newfound insights, Sander aims to tell stories about socially engaged topics to offer his audience new perspectives. Themes such as self-development and autonomy play a significant role in his films, as Sander has become fascinated by the transformation a person can undergo (mentally and physically) after being in a conflicting mental situation. He wants his film to inspire teenagers, showing them that it is possible to strive for autonomy even in seemingly restrictive situations where they cannot be the person they aspire to be.
