Aida Harika Yanomami is a Yanomami filmmaker who lives in the village of Watorikɨ, Demini, located in the Brazilian Amazon. She is part of the collective of Yanomami communicators created in 2018 by the Hutukara Yanomami Association with support from the Instituto Socioambiental (ISA). In order to strengthen Hutukara's communication and develop strategies to strengthen traditional knowledge among young people, whose interest in cell phones and non-indigenous technologies is growing, a group of 6 young Yanomami from three regions of the Yanomami Indigenous Territory - Watorikɨ, Missão Catrimani and Novo Demini, to receive audiovisual training. Since 2021, Aida has participated in several workshops where she produced videos and short films. “Thuë pihi kuuwi - A Woman Thinking” and “Yuri uxëa tima thë - The fishing with timbó” are her first short films in which she directed and edited.
