THE RODRIGUES SISTERS have been selected for the Gotham Owning It Program (2022), were Humanitas Prize drama fellowship finalists (2021), and Women in Film Mentees (2020-2021). Most recently, they were brought onto a new Google x LPF Studio to develop a slate of multilingual films and short form media. Marlee is a graduate from NYU Tisch, where she made her first feature, "Little Miss Perfect", now streaming on Amazon Prime. She is currently the Film Department Program Manager and Advanced Directing Professor at the Los Angeles Film School and recently completed her masters at USC. Karlee is a graduate from Columbia University. Shortly after, she joined international film distribution company Kino Lorber where she worked on Cannes Competition "Four Daughters" (2023) and Berlinale Golden Bear Winner "On the Adamant"(2023). She has received grants from UniFrance (2023), ACM (2023), TeleFilm Canada (2022), and German Films (2022) and is looking forward to participating in EAVE’s (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) program in Luxembourg this Fall 2023. The sisters’ production company, “CINEMANAS” blends the words “cinema” and “manas” (sisters) to create films centered on women’s experiences with themes of identity, cultural in-betweenness, and collective dreaming.
