Jamie Perault is a biracial director based in London with French and Nigerian roots. Growing up in Brussels, he kicked off his storytelling journey at 16 with a hilariously flawed gangster film starring his teenage friends in ill-fitting suits. After completing a law degree, he worked in entry-level roles from BBC to Prime before diving into documentary filmmaking at the National Film & Television School, injecting his work with personal flair. As a recent graduate, he will be taking two films on the festival circuit: “Laughing Matters” & his grad film "Budd, Sweat & Tearz". With a creative focus on stories reflecting the perspectives of outsiders via the lenses of race, nationality, and subcultures, Jamie is eager to continue directing both fiction & non-fiction.
