Daniel Frota de Abreu (1988, Brazil) is a visual artist and filmmaker whose practice investigates the role of memory and aesthetics in the way historical facts are shaped, manipulated, institutionalized and preserved. Through archival research, films, lecture-performances, publications and installations, Daniel draws connections between museum practices, geographical displacements of stories and political implications in the production of scientific knowledge. His works have been screened or exhibited at institutions such as Festival Sesc_Videobrasil (São Paulo, Brazil), Musée des Confluences (Lyon, France), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin, Italy), MAK Center for Art and Architecture (Los Angeles, USA), Fundação Iberê Camargo (Porto Alegre, Brazil), among others.
