Andrés is a Venezuelan filmmaker, a graduate of the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. Since moving to Canada in 2014, he has obtained a BFA in Film Production with a minor in Film Studies. Known for blending reality with fiction through magical realism, his debut documentary short, Audio y el Caimán (2024), has been selected at more than 20 festivals, including Sheffield DocFest and Hot Docs, and has received awards at the Miami Film Festival, Regard Film Festival, and the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival. He is currently in development of his first feature film, El Padrote, with the support of Telefilm’s Talent to Watch program, and distributing his new short film, La Sombra de la Montaña, with the support of the Dolby Creator Lab and Antigravity Academy.
