Tae Hee Um, a South Korean born filmmaker, started his creative career on a library ship operated as a part of an NGO. Writing and producing theater pieces for thousands of local visitors, he found his true passion for storytelling. After finishing his 3-year commitment onboard, he was called for his duty in the South Korean military, during which he gathered inexperienced volunteers to help him create a short film <Land of Yesterday>. The film was shot over two days on an island west of Seoul, having only two experienced photographers in the crew. Despite the hardship, Tae tasted the joy of storytelling, and is now on his move to further grow in the craft.
