Millan Tarus is a filmmaker from Kenya working on the short filmas his primary artistic medium. He believes that every time, aperson interacts with film, they partake in a visceral subjective experience where the work fuses with their memories,perceptions, and encounters with the universe. It is in this visceral subjective experience that he lingers as a filmmaker. His works include Glitch, a science fiction short film under agrant from Docubox, East African Documentary Film Fund’s “Script to Screen” FilmPro Workshop series; Love Daggers, the overall winner of 2019 Machakos Film Festival; Koi, a short film made during the inaugural Cinemadamare Africa Chapter 2019,a traveling campus of filmmakers across five counties in Kenya; Wote, a dystopian thriller exploring institutional oppression; now that I know things, where do I go from here? an immersive audio experience commissioned as part of the Digital Storytelling Lab,a British Council Project in partnership with Coventry City of Culture Trust, The Space, and BBC Research & Development. Millan is currently studying for a Master's in Screenwriting and Production at Cattolica University under the Netflix Scholars Program.
