BIOGRAPHIE

Born as Bai-minority in China, Danting started filmmaking at 17. Her video Behavioural Exposure was in Shanghai Biennale 2014. In 2015 she became an animator for Disney Research China. In 2016 she moved to Berlin and has written and directed shorts Onshore at Southampton, Accident (2019), and Family Trip (2020), which was an official selection in Oscar® qualifying Pan African Film Fest, CSA® qualifying Toronto Black Film Fest, Buenos Aires IFF, HiShorts! and a semi-finalist at Osaka IFF. Her themes include social dilemmas, women, LGBTQIA+ and beyond.
