Denys Borysovskyi (b. 1980, Dnipro, Ukraine) is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. He began his career in the IT industry but eventually shifted toward creative work, initially focusing on music. Over time, his interest in visual storytelling led him to study filmmaking at the Kyiv University of Culture. His first short film, LIGHT-24 (2023), was created during power outages caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and reflects on personal experiences and existential questions during times of crisis. The film was selected for several international festivals, including the 18th River Film Festival (Italy), the 6th Duemila30 International Student Film Festival (Italy), and the 13th Tuzla Film Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Borysovskyi’s next project, The Moment (2025), continues to explore the psychological impact of war through a personal and reflective perspective.
