Marie Fotso

BIOGRAPHIE

Marie is a film student completing her masters degree in directing at IAD (Institut des Arts Diffusion) in Belgium. Landry is her graduation project. Last year, also as part of her masters degree, she co-wrote and co-directed the short film ‘Noham’ - which screened in a number of festivals and picked up a couple of awards. French-Cameroonian, but having grown up and studied (pharmaceutical sciences) in England, Marie is bilingual in French and English. She gave up a promising career as a pharmacist to pursue her passion for cinema, alongside her twin sister Anne, with whom she collaborates on screenplays and art direction. With her passion for films stemming from a love for documentary filmmaking and social-realism, her films rely on a vast amount of background research, with character-driven stories that also combine more ethereal and dreamlike sequences.
