Théo Parent is a Montreal based filmmaker. Motivated by the discovery of unique aesthetic processes, his practice is based around experimental cinema and exploratory approaches to fiction and documentary. His versatility has lead him to cumulate experience in cinematography and directing, as well as in production, sound design and various experimental practices, such as hand-processing film. In 2021, his film 117/323 was presented at the 40th Rendez-vous Québec cinéma. In 2022, he received support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec and made his first hybrid short film (fiction/experimental), Les fougères prédatent les dinosaures. His next project, funded by the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec, is an experimental short on the topic of memory, archives, and subjectivity.
