Elkie Hershberg is a female director and screenwriter who grew up in the Ultra Orthodox community. Most of Her films deal with her struggles and experiences as a girl in a closed conservative community. Elkie is a graduate with honors of the Ma’ale Film School in Jerusalem. Short films: “A Farewell Letter” funded by the Makor foundation, “The Traveler's Prayer” funded by Gesher foundation. “Sunday'' stop motion funded by the Makor foundation and the Lottery foundation. “Crazy Snow'' funded by the Jerusalem Cinema and Television Fund. In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Elkie teaches screenwriting at the Jerusalem Art School.
