Alexandre Popov

BIOGRAPHIE

Alexandre Popov grew up between Moscow, Russia and Kharkiv, Ukraine, acting in theater at a young age. He later switched his focus to film directing and photography. At the age of 17, he moved to the United States to pursue filmmaking education, where he studied under the mentorship of the acclaimed director Alireza Khatami. Years later, he returned to his homeland, but Russia's political regime and the invasion of Ukraine forced him to move abroad once again. Alexandre now permanently resides in Paris, France where he also practices journalism and teaching. Alexandre Popov is known for short films Tragedy in Ten Scenes (2018), Bovine (2019), and Tenant (2020) which premiered at various international film festivals in New York, Chicago, Nashville, Stockholm, Prague, Porto, and Moscow.
