Karlee Rodrigues

BIOGRAPHIE

The Rodrigues Sisters, a Luso-American filmmaking duo, founded CINEMANAS to explore themes of identity, cultural in-betweenness, and collective dreaming through independent cinema. Their films have screened at festivals internationally as well as the Directors Guild of America Theater, TCL Chinese Theatre, Lincoln Center and Soho Cinema House program. Since 2022, they were brought onto a new Google x LPF studio to develop a slate of multilingual short form media. Marlee is the Film Program Manager at Los Angeles Film School, where she teaches Advanced Directing and Karlee works in distribution at renowned Kino Lorber, where she has received grants from Unifrance, ACM, Telefilm Canada, and German Films. They are graduates of NYU, USC, and Columbia University and have been selected to participate in programs from Women in Film, the Gotham (formerly IFP), and the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) network. Together, they embrace cinema and sisterhood around the world, celebrating the power of storytelling through film and connecting communities and cultures one frame at a time. Their directorial debut, OS SONHOS CONTINUAM, premieres at Tribeca Festival Lisboa October 2024.
