Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Ramin S. Khanjani is a Canadian film scholar and freelance writer. An ardent cinephile since his childhood, he received his Master's degree in Film Studies from Carleton University, Ottawa. Aside from contributing articles and essays to various print and online publications, he has written and published a monograph on the author director, Ali Hatami (H&S Media, London, 2014). His writings demonstrate a preoccupation with the history of cinema and seek to investigate the issue of cinematic form. Recently he has joined the local filmmaking scene in Ottawa and collaborated on a number of projects. Spectrum is his debut as a writer/director.
