Rosa Geertsma

BIOGRAPHIE

Rosa Lackroy is a Dutch filmmaker, born in Groningen in 1998. She holds two bachelor's degrees in film. Her first was in Audiovisual Specialization at Noorderpoort College in Groningen. In 2025, she completed her second degree in Directing for Fiction Film at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. Lackroy is a queer filmmaker whose work explores questions of sex, desire, and the promises of freedom. Her work particularly focuses on questioning internalized stigma. She enjoys experimenting with the creation of dreamlike realities that tap into the porous boundaries between the real and the subconscious.
