SYNOPSIS
On the first of September 1923 a violent earthquake destroyed Tokyo and Yokohama, killing more than a thousand people and leaving two million homeless. Seventy years later, the director's grandmother evokes her flight across the blazing towns (she speaks in Cantonese and sings in Japonese).
