Jean Dubuffet's "practicables" are unreasonable, immoderate dwelling sites completely made up, where materiality and the unreal, utopia and reality are blurred. Each site is made with some light material, covered with an even, infinite writing. Jean Dubuffet aims at creating spaces where ambiguity rules the notions of the scales of reality and the unreal, of idea and matter, of bulk and level. When a visitor enters a practicable, he or she is invited to travel "a real mental space".
