SYNOPSIS

1940, the end of the Spanish Civil War. The Franco regime has banished the use of any language besides Spanish. Ignacio Zurikalday is 13 at the time. He is Basque and speaks Spanish with difficulty. At school, he gets punished whenever he speaks Basque.
