SYNOPSIS

"The work of Lortac, whose real name is Robert Collard, is the largest in the history of French animation film. A former Fine Arts student, after he was wounded in 1912, and discharged, he then turned to animation. He made his first cartoons for Pathé in 1916. That's when he got the chance to meet Émile Cohl and work on short cartoons inserted in news flashes... " (Raymond MAILLET, Ecran 73, n°11).
