A four-handed film made after a trip to Russia in 1990. The result is a double screen which mixes Super 8 images, sixties propaganda, and a veiled reference to Vertov and Eisenstein. ›When we returned from a trip to Russia in 1990, armed with our Super 8 cameras, Yann Beauvais and myself decided to share our images and make a four-handed film. The result is a twin screen projection using our Super 8 footage mixed in with archival material from the ´60s to the ´80s and also a sprinkling of Russian classics such as Vertov and Eisenstein. The soundtrack is composed of various elements: Street recordings, Russian music of all kinds, and excerpts of Lenin speeches.‹
