SYNOPSIS

Fresno, California, 1949. On the farm and in the fields. Stella and her husband Emery work hard just to keep the farm afloat. When Jesse, a drifter with an agenda all his own, secures a job on the farm, Stella's forced to reconsider the role of love in the institution of marriage.
