SYNOPSIS
Frei Gualter was sent by St Francisco de Assis to Guimarães in around 1213. The devotion to this franciscan friar started to rise and in 1577 the brotherhood of St Gualter was created. The Gualterianas have been celebrated since 1906, this is the new way of celebration in honour of their patron saint.
