SYNOPSIS
On November 17, 1905, the Korean Empire was forced by the Japanese government to sign the Eulsa Treaty, also known as the Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty. Princess Deok-Hye, Gojong’s youngest daughter, was forced to become a hostage in Japan at the age of 12. She only returned to Korea many years later.
