SYNOPSIS

KALI is inspired by Nina Simone’s rendition of a song from Brecht's "Three Penny Opera". The lyrics act as monologue, performed by Hiam Abbass in Arabic. Kali tackles issues of oppression, exploitation and injustice. The title refers to the Hindu goddess associated with Empowerment, Time and Change.
