SYNOPSIS

1937, behind the walls of the Leningrad NKVD (the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs). One of the interrogated victims can no longer take the pain and signs a confession. Meanwhile, a young lady, Maria Batalova, is writing poems - a fragile lady who turns out to be very strong.
