SYNOPSIS

Jerusalem, 1948. 4-year-old Gadi's family prepares a Sabbath dinner. As the Sabbath begins a blast is heard; shrapnel flies through the window, killing Gadi's mother on the spot. According to Jewish law, a dead person may not be moved. She will not be moved until Saturday night.
