SYNOPSIS

Along the coast of Maine, millions of baby eels called "elvers" float up rivers and propel a lucrative international seafood trade. In 2012, global demand for eel as an ingredient in Asian cuisine, caused the price for a single pound of elvers to skyrocket to over $2000. An eclectic cast of characters describe what happened when this small-town fishery exploded into a gold rush.
