Zhongsen Theatre opened in 1968 in the Taiwanese city of Taichung. It thrived in an area of intense competition between cinemas, and was eventually shut down in 2000, when the local movie theatre industry declined. Just before this cultural landmark goes under demolition, a group of film academics rush in to salvage as much as possible and record memories of its significance for the locals.
