Slaughtering a carp at home, in order to cook a Christmas dinner, is an old Polish tradition that now seems controversial and provokes disputes in society. The homeless poet and philosopher who lives under the bridge, three generations of a Polish family, an artistic tandem, gather at the Christmas table, and they all try to figure out if that tradition can be considered humane.
