SYNOPSIS

At a conference in Rome a journalist well past his prime, encounters a man claiming to have been a contract killer for the Pope. After his initial skepticism gives way, he invests his savings and integrity in what he believes to be the story of a lifetime – the scoop which would redeem him. But as he tries to untangle the truth from the lies, the story gradually seems to evaporate in front of him.
