At 14, Jalall was taken from a prison in Afghanistan and brought to the United Kingdom. Now, on the cusp of turning 18, he has trouble in school and is being pushed out of foster care. Jalall documents his struggles as he adapts to a seemingly free, yet isolated life in England. Ultimately the only way to confront his past is through an act forbidden in his religion: painting.
