SYNOPSIS

Jacques Fresnel, a seventy-year-old French research scientist living in the nineteenth century, makes a stunning discovery while he is writing his will. The pocket watch that his grandmother gave him on his tenth birthday shows him scenes of the Earth in the twenty-first century, immersed in a wave of pollution and heavy acid rain, caused by human activity.
