SYNOPSIS

Far from the tumult of WWI, in his Giverny garden, Claude Monet slowly loses his inspiration. Meanwhile, his friend Georges Clémenceau has commissioned eight large decorative panels from him. Young Gabriel, the gardener's nephew, shows Monet his brother's sketchbooks who has been sent to the front to fight. The sketches reveal realistic strokes and depict the horror of the trenches.
