SYNOPSIS
James suffers the painful repercussions of his Hispanic immigrant mother Maria’s decision to raise him devoid of her culture. James struggles to find his identity and confronts his mother about robbing him of his culture. This film explores the infamously racist philosophy that has plagued Latin culture for centuries, “Mejorar La Raza,” or, “to whiten the race.”
