SYNOPSIS

Damascus in 2013. Syrian soldier Husam has 24 hours of leave to visit his family. A lump is stuck in his throat as he sits with his mother at breakfast: he wants to say what he really feels. That he is afraid of death and wants to escape military service. But his mother clings to an image of her son as a hero fighting for the honour of his country and his family.
