SYNOPSIS

“Elegy” is poetically depicting the moral contradiction between communist beliefs and religious faith, as they for a long time have paradoxically co-existed in the Latin American conscience – as expressions of people’s material and spiritual hopes, and having death as a common element which is seen from the contrasting perspectives of dictatorship-sacrificed lives and the promise of eternal life.
