SYNOPSIS

‘Bakelite’ is a live-action short film by Julie Gautier shot entirely underwater, in the Mediterranean Sea. This aquatic ballet is an ecological tale depicting our paradoxical relationship with plastic. Beauty is the Naiad, a nature spirit with human features, and the Beast is a monster made of plastic waste that gathers and comes to life.
