SYNOPSIS

Weary of his domineering father, Khang, an heir to wealth, seeks freedom on a covert, one-way road trip with Tuong, his free-spirited yet traditional best friend. Their escape is thwarted by a crash on a desolate beach, where Tuong's spiritual instincts prompt him to insist on a ritualistic prayer before they leave. Humoring Tuong, Khang agrees, delaying the revelation of his secret departure. While Khang ventures into the forest, Tuong's discovery of Khang's packed trunk confirms his suspicions of betrayal. Concurrently, Khang, inexplicably drawn to an altar in the woods, finds clarity and resolve in his bid for independence. Tuong confronts him, but the sight of Khang’s raw vulnerability shifts the argument's tone. Despite a heartfelt prayer and discussion attempt by Tuong, Khang fiercely guards his plan, deepening the rift between them. Tuong's persistence for truth triggers Khang's outburst, halted only by the sight of the incoming tide threatening their stranded car. In a frantic bid to escape the rising water, they find themselves stuck on the car roof, engaging in a heated debate over freedom versus duty, neither willing to concede. Trapped and impassioned, they reach an impasse, unable to bridge their conflicting ideals. A tacit truce is formed under the stars, deferring the dispute to the morrow. Come dawn, Tuong's absence leaves Khang to confront the road ahead alone, driving away from the beach, their friendship hanging in the balance of their unresolved quarrel.
