SYNOPSIS

Grandma says that Taiwan is just on the other side of the sea. Eleven-year-old Wei and his eight-year-old cousin live with Grandma in FuQing, China. The cousin has finally received a permit to enter Taiwan and will go to live with her mother. Not only does Wei have no hope of getting the opportunity to go to Taiwan, but he also has to part with his only playmate, his cousin. The next day, the three of them go to town to handle the cousin's exit documents. Wei tries everything he can to stop his cousin from going to Taiwan. In their journey, they rediscover the vastness of the sea.
