Vilar do Courel is a very small village hidden in the mountains of Lugo (Galicia, Spain), which with its last breaths resists the disappearance caused by depopulation and the aging of the rural world. The last three inhabitants of the place are the guardians of a timeless space, which transits its past and looks towards its future from an empty, immobile and fragile present. With Branca's arrival from Barcelona to visit her grandfather, the reality of the village begins to transform. During the days, the neighbors live their daily life in solitude, but with the arrival of the night their memory is unconsciously activated. Memories of the past and ancient legends guide the characters through magical forests and forgotten paths. A oniric space seems to float above the real one, seeping through its cracks, flooding it more and more and threatening to get out of control. Both characters and form are thus situated in the terrain of dreams and memory as a boundary between two worlds, that of the living and that of the dead, the resistance of the real and its re-construction as a portrait.
