SYNOPSIS

The death of his mother plunges Budi into the feelings of loss and sadness that he has yet to understand. To process his feelings, Budi must go on a journey to find a final resting place for his mother. In the midst of his journey, tired and desperate, Budi asks the Nocturnal Bird flying in circles above him. As if understanding Budi's request, the Nocturnal Bird directs him through a Motorcyclist who had fallen in front of him. The impulsive solution from the Nocturnal Bird results in a new challenge for Budi. The Motorcyclist, wanting to help Budi without asking any questions first, causes a series of unfathomable events. Eventually, Budi decides to stop the efforts of the Motorcyclist as they have amounted to nothing. With a promise to return, the Motorcyclist leaves Budi and his mother's remains on the side of the road. Budi's feelings of loss resurfaces again and this time, he manages to recognize a feeling inside him. Before Budi gets the chance to dive into the feeling, the sound of a car horn brings him back to reality. A public transportation vehicle carrying a group of passengers stops right in front of Budi. As the passengers look on, Budi approaches the Driver, who asks him where he's headed. The Nocturnal Bird sings again and flies in circles above Budi's head as if it's answering the question. Budi is trapped once again, in an external conflict between the passengers. In the midst of the social conflict, Budi notices a new feeling. He dives into the feeling; the Nocturnal Bird singing again, as if it supports Budi's decision to stop and exit the vehicle. Accompanied by the sound of the morning call to prayer, Budi continues his journey up a steep incline, where a stall stands at the top. There, he meets a little girl, who approaches and asks Budi about his feelings and what he feels. The girl walks next to Budi, without trying to get ahead or cutting in front of him. The two of them walk in silence, side-by-side towards the same direction, only existing in their bodies and souls. In front of a gapura, the two stop for a moment, as Budi confirms the direction they're heading towards. The Nocturnal Bird can't be heard anymore, the universe answers Budi's questions through a different way. The little girl accompanying Budi sincerely extends her hand. There is a feeling of peace and all of his burdens become lighter the moment Budi takes her hand. At the end of the journey, they arrive at a beach. The beach that is painted in Budi's memory. The beach he has been looking for. The beach where Budi could accept and recognize all of his feelings. A secret beach that can't be talked about, but only felt.
