SYNOPSIS

Annie Londonderry the first woman to ride a bicycle around the world, defying in 1894 the conception of what was expected of a woman in the mindset of the time, a time of enormous change, the twentieth century was approaching full of promise and possibility, but not for everyone… not if you were a woman. Annie Cohen, born in Latvia, emigrated at a very young age to the United States, mother of 3 children, Jewish and married to an Orthodox Torah scholar Jew, who at the age of 24 convinced that she could want more from her existence begins a personal challenge with herself and with the costume of the time, literally, wearing pants and beginning an incredible journey, unthinkable for those times. An experience full of similarities with the female condition of the present, where even today 130 years later the role of women in our society is still being discussed. All change, even that which involves an entire society, begins with an individual attempt, “THE ONE WHO STARTS WINS”, Annie would have said.
