SYNOPSIS

At the core of the story is Maito, a 14-year-old boy living in a suburb of Tokyo. the beginning of his life at home was overshadowed by the needs of his older sister, a wheelchair user, who commanded their mother's full attention. In the absence of parental affection, Maito discovered a profound connection to hip-hop and Krump. This connection is not just a hobby; it's a lifeline, a form of communication, and a quest for recognition. The film follows Maito's journey from isolation to the spotlight of Tokyo's competitive dance scene. His every movement tells a story of struggle, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of a mother's acknowledgment. Yet, beyond personal validation, Maito dances for his sister, translating the music she cannot hear into a visual spectacle she can see and feel. “A quiet storm" is a story of familial bonds, silent sacrifices, and the unspoken love that binds a family together. As we explore the contrasting worlds of Maito's silent home life and the explosive expression of Krump, we witness a young boy's transformation into an artist, using his talent to bridge worlds.
