SYNOPSIS

This sparkling, dreamlike short film by director duo Liv Andrès and Lou Sunshy offers a fictional account of the 24 hours surrounding the May 11, 2020 end of lockdown in a provincial town in France. A group of friends touched by the desire to be reborn, but still clumsy in their expression of this new freedom. Two friends are going through an emotional desert, while life seems to be smiling on them. Camille, a passionate university professor whose existence is on hold, damaged by years of waiting for her platonic lover to declare his love, decides to reveal herself. Flora, a French teacher who has devoted everything to her profession for 20 years, dreamer and poet, ruined by her dismissal from the Education Nationale, rushes off to a nightclub to experience a moment of grace through music and dance. Friends meet up at the café; destinies cross, sometimes even from one Universe to another. Only Annie is unable to escape the loneliness that will render her mute forever. A tribute to French cinema, to love, to friendship, to that little bit of madness that remains when desire invites itself amidst the rubble. An ode to life.
