SYNOPSIS

The Global Climate Plan is a proposal strongly supported by the population in every country that would both put an end to climate change and extreme poverty. It would cap CO2 emissions by selling emission permits to polluting firms and redistribute the revenues collected equally among each human adult. As part of his research, Dr. Adrien Fabre, CNRS researcher at Centre International de Recherche sur l'Environnement et le Développement, studies what people would think of such a proposal. On a visit to a rural village in China, he decided to get a sense of how the villagers who are rarely heard would react to the proposal. This film deals with urgent global issues: climate change and extreme poverty, and does so by giving a voice to people too often neglected in decision-making.
