Logline: A mother surprises her kids with a trip to the place she wants to be buried. The kids disagree with her decision. Synopsis: We meet Debbie, a practicing Buddhist already late to meet her two adult children waiting for her in Maspeth, Queens, for breakfast. She arrives and announces she’s taking them to the place she wants to be buried - an overgrown dump of a Jewish cemetery. Approaching the cemetery gates, they discover it’s closed. It's Saturday, Shabbat. Pissed, Matt and Liv question their mother’s spirituality and end of life plan as the conversation escalates. But it’s Debbie's own voice that triumphs. She admonishes them for reprimanding her with questions she’s already facing. This is the one choice she can make independently. Silence. What next? Nobody knows - but they all agree to eat breakfast.
