SYNOPSIS
In Iceland, about 11 percent of the island is covered by glaciers. If warming continues, Iceland’s glaciers will decrease by 40 percent by 2100 and virtually disappear by 2200. When do we realize that the path forward does not lie in the pursuit of more sophisticated solutions but in a metamorphosis of our values and behaviors? Metamorphosis explores the critical juncture at which humanity must confront the stark reality of our changing environment. As the glaciers of Iceland vanish, the film delves into the efforts to revive those bodies of water. It questions whether technological advancements can address the underlying issues or if a profound shift in our collective consciousness and values is required. Is it merely about innovating our way out of the crisis, or does it demand a fundamental transformation in how we live, interact with nature, and perceive our responsibilities towards the planet? This is not a rejection of innovation itself but a reevaluation of its purpose.
